Information Fusion Using Ontology-Based Communication between Agents
نویسنده
چکیده
The distribution of on-line applications among network nodes may require obtaining acceptable results from data analysis of multiple sensors. Such sensors data is probably heterogeneous, inconsistent, and of different types. Therefore, multiple sensor data fusion is required. Here, there are many levels of information fusion (from low level signals to high level knowledge). Agents for monitoring application field events could be used to dynamically react to those events and to take appropriate actions. In a dynamic environment even a single agent may have varying capabilities to sense that environment. The situation becomes more complex when various heterogeneous agents need to communicate with each other. Ontologies offer significant benefits to multi-agent systems. The benefits as such are interoperability, reusability, support for multi-agent systems development activities such as system analysis and agent knowledge modeling. Ontologies support multi-agent systems operations such as agent communication and reasoning. The proposed agent based model in this paper can afford a promising model for obtaining acceptable information in case of multiple sensors.

Self-Controlling Architecture Structured Agents
In this paper we propose a new paradigm for software. It is an extension of the agent based computing approach. The main components of this paradigm include: the use of formal methods for specification of agent functionality; inter-agent communication using a common syntax with ontology defined semantics; goal driven fusion of agents, services and ontologies; control theory based architecture o...
متن کاملUrban Vegetation Recognition Based on the Decision Level Fusion of Hyperspectral and Lidar Data
Introduction: Information about vegetation cover and their health has always been interesting to ecologists due to its importance in terms of habitat, energy production and other important characteristics of plants on the earth planet. Nowadays, developments in remote sensing technologies caused more remotely sensed data accessible to researchers. The combination of these data improves the obje...
متن کاملDeveloping an Ontology and ACL in an Agent-based GIS
We present an ontology and agent communication language (ACL) for an agent-based Geographic Information System (GIS). The ontology is comprised of three critical components necessary to exchange information between GIS-domain agents, systems, or organizations, including: vector, raster, and image data; algorithms descriptions including name, inputs, outputs, and required parameters; and query/r...
متن کاملUncertainty in the Automation of Ontology Matching
The exchange of information between two agents over the Semantic Web requires a means of translating between the “vocabularies” of the agents. Much research has focused on the use of ontologies for specifying an agent’s knowledge and for exchanging information between agents. Effective communication between agents using different ontologies, however, requires determining the semantic interopera...
متن کاملDeveloping a BIM-based Spatial Ontology for Semantic Querying of 3D Property Information
With the growing dominance of complex and multi-level urban structures, current cadastral systems, which are often developed based on 2D representations, are not capable of providing unambiguous spatial information about urban properties. Therefore, the concept of 3D cadastre is proposed to support 3D digital representation of land and properties and facilitate the communication of legal owners...
